چکیده

Abstract Beyond the Intima Media Thickness assessment: measurement of overall echogenicity (GSM) Carotid Complex shows a positive correlation with Arterial Stiffness hypertensive patients. According to latest ESC guidelines on CVD prevention (2021) arterial stiffness still has role in predicting future risk and defining patients’ level. However, significative difficulties make widespread evaluation AS problematic, especially ambulatorial outpatient setting. The IMT is no longer recommended assessment due lack standardization protocol low power reclassify patients toward higher CV risk. Understanding between structure function large arteries can lead an optimization cardiovascular disease strategies. At present, indices have not been associated qualitative morphological characteristics intima-media complex. IM GSM relatively simple that be acquired during carotid color-Doppler ultrasound exam. aim this study was investigate relationship intima media complex (IM GSM) common subjects hypertension. In our population 421 patients, > 30 showed significantly increased LVMI (P < 0.001). A weak found SBP (r =0.35, 0.001), duration hypertension = 0.31, 0.01). Our suggests observed hypertensives changes wall.

Common Carotid Intima-Media Thickness and Arterial Stiffness

Background—Common carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and distensibility are markers of structural and functional vessel wall properties. Both parameters have been found in population-based studies to be associated with cardiovascular risk factors and prevalent cardiovascular disease. We investigated cross-sectionally whether IMT and distensibility are associated with cardiovascular risk in pa...

[Carotid intima-media thickness in diabetics and hypertensive patients].

The aims of this study are to describe the mean values of carotid intima-media thickness and how it increases with age, and to compare carotid injury in diabetics and hypertensive patients with that of controls. We included 562 subjects (121 diabetics, 352 hypertensive patients, 89 controls). The mean intima-media thickness was 0.781 mm in diabetics, 0.738 mm in hypertensive patients and 0.686 ...

Intima-media Thickness and Arterial Stiffness of Carotid Artery in Korean Patients with Behçet's Disease

Behçet's disease (BD) is a systemic vasculitis involving diverse sizes of arteries and veins. We performed this study to evaluate the vascular changes by assessment of the arterial stiffness and intima-media thickness (IMT) of carotid artery in Korean patients with BD. Forty-one patients with BD and age-, and sex-matched 53 healthy subjects were recruited in this study. Carotid arterial stiffne...

Correlation of Carotid Intima-Media Thickness with Atherosclerosis in Diabetes

B-mode ultrasound of Common Carotid artery at its bifurcation for measure of the Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), offers a valid non-invasive quantifying test for macro-vascular complications like atherosclerosis. Material and Methods: 50 cases of type 2 Diabetes and 30 age and sex matched Non-diabetics controls were taken for present study and subjected to Ultra-sonographic scanning of t...

The Assosiation of Carotid Intima-Media Thickness and Ankle Brachial Index with SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in Asymptomatic Diabetic Patients

Objective: The risk of cardiac death in diabetic patients is 3 times more than non-diabetics. But it is not determined who need cardiac screening. About 41% of diabetic patients with silent ischemia are missed. the carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and ankel brachial index are two independent, simple and non invasive method in vascular complications diagnosis in diabetic patients. The aim of ...
